What happened to her that night must have been a horrific ordeal." ———————————————————————— Rapualla Ahmadze was convicted of raping a vulnerable teenager in Cooper Park, Elgin.
The incident occurred on August 4 last year, when Ahmadze was caught on CCTV walking the streets before approaching the victim sitting on a bench.
The teenager, then aged 17, reported that he stopped in front of her and asked if she had a boyfriend, then claimed he was now her boyfriend.
Ahmadze, 21, then pulled her off the bench, walked her towards a playground with an arm around her waist, and molested her.
He subsequently raped her, ignoring her efforts to stop him.
A man in the park witnessed her condition afterward and helped her to hospital.
Ahmadze denied the rape, claiming the sex was consensual and that the victim was happy to have sex with him.
He also falsely stated he was born in 2007 and was 18, but official records show he was born in January 2004.
He was also convicted of threatening behavior at a house in Dufftown, Moray.
Ahmadze was found guilty and placed on the sex offenders’ register, with sentencing scheduled following a background report and risk assessment.
