MAN CHARGED WITH RAPING WOMAN
A man has been charged with rape after a woman claimed she was sexually assaulted in a Moray street.Grzegorz Burzawa appeared in a private hearing at Elgin Sheriff Court, in connection with an incident that occurred in July.
The 33-year-old did not enter a plea during the hearing and was subsequently released on bail.
Residing in Elgin, Burzawa faces allegations of raping a woman in her thirties on Murray Street in the area of New Elgin.
Additionally, he is charged with two other sexual assault offences.
Authorities launched a comprehensive investigation after receiving reports of an attack around 10pm on July 27 of the previous year (2016).
Investigators interviewed over 400 individuals and conducted numerous door-to-door inquiries.
The police made repeated appeals for information from the public regarding the incident, which took place near the junction of Meadow Crescent and Millar Street.
