MAN JAILED FOR RAPE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT OF CHILD

Raif Mentesh, 45, from Carlisle, was found guilty of raping and sexually assaulting a child prior to 2024.

He was sentenced to 14 years in jail at Carlisle Crown Court.

Additionally, he must register with authorities indefinitely, be subject to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order, and sign the sex offenders register for life.

Following the sentencing, Det Con Linzi Wilkinson appealed to children and young victims of sexual offences to come forward and report them.
