2017: ‘SHE WAS IN YOUR CLUTCHES' – MAN JAILED FOR REPEATEDLY RAPING AND ASSAULTING COTSWOLDS WOMAN
A 38-year-old man has been jailed for 12 years after a jury convicted him of assaulting and twice raping a young Cotswolds woman in his seedy Gloucester home.Przemyslaw Stojko, of Southgate Street in Gloucester, was also convicted of witness intimidation by brandishing a knife and told the woman to ring the police and change her story.
The trial started on Monday last week, and just before lunchtime on Tuesday, the jury returned with their verdicts after more than eight hours of deliberation spread over three days.
Stojko from Poland raped his victim twice - first between April 29 and May 12 this year and then again between June 16 and 19.
He also physically assaulted the woman on June 16 and threatened her with a knife between June 16 and 19 to make her change her statement.
The woman described Stojko as having punched her more times than she could remember, and said he had made sexual videos and posted photos of her on Facebook, taking control of her Facebook account.
The prosecutor highlighted the serious and aggravating nature of the crimes, citing degradation, humiliation, and threats of violence, especially given her vulnerable personal circumstances, including dealing with alcohol and drug problems.
Stojko is currently contesting extradition proceedings.
He was sentenced to 11 years for the two rape offences, with additional sentences for assault and witness intimidation, totaling 12 years in prison.
