PHILLIP SARBUTT FROM CLEETHORPES SENTENCED FOR CHILD INDECENCY IMAGES

A resident of Cleethorpes, Phillip Sarbutt, has been handed a suspended prison sentence after being found in possession of indecent photographs of children. The court proceedings revealed that Sarbutt, aged 45, was convicted of both creating and possessing such images, some of which were classified at the highest levels of severity, indicating the extreme nature of the material involved.

During the hearing, it was disclosed that Sarbutt had been acting as a carer for his family at the time of the offences. Despite the serious nature of the crimes, he had no prior criminal record, which was taken into account during sentencing.

The court imposed a comprehensive sentence that included a three-year treatment programme aimed at addressing his behaviour and preventing future offences. Additionally, Sarbutt was subjected to a five-year order that explicitly prohibited any contact with minors, reflecting the court’s concern for public safety and the protection of children.

The offences committed by Sarbutt span a period from 2013 up to the present day, indicating a prolonged period during which he was involved in illegal activities related to child exploitation images. The case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement and judicial authorities to combat such crimes and safeguard vulnerable populations.
