PETER WEAVING BRISTOL AND CO DOWN SEX ABUSER SENTENCED TO EIGHT YEARS IN PRISON

In a case that has shocked the local communities of Bristol and Co Down, Peter Weaving, a 54-year-old man, was sentenced to a total of eight years behind bars for a series of heinous sexual offenses committed against a young boy. The court heard that the abuse, which was described by the judge as both "systematic and grossly depraved," had a profound and devastating impact on the victim, to the extent that he attempted to take his own life.

According to court proceedings, Weaving subjected the young boy to repeated sexual abuse over a period of several years, from when the boy was just nine years old until he reached the age of 15. The abuse took place at Weaving's residence in Co Down, a detail that added to the gravity of the case given the trust placed in the offender by the community.

Weaving, who resides on Molesworth Drive in Bristol, had initially denied the allegations, claiming innocence and denying any involvement in the abuse. Despite his denial, the evidence against him was overwhelming. Last December, a jury deliberated for only 25 minutes before reaching a unanimous verdict of guilty on all 14 counts of indecent assault brought against him.
