PETER ANDERSON KENSINGTON SEX OFFENDER JAILED AFTER ASSAULT ON OFF-DUTY POLICE OFFICER IN WETHERSPOON'S TOILET

In October of the previous year, a disturbing incident unfolded at a Wetherspoon’s pub in Liverpool involving Peter Anderson, a known sex offender from Kensington, Merseyside. Anderson, who was already serving a suspended sentence for exposing himself to children, committed a further act of sexual assault against an off-duty special constable, leading to his subsequent imprisonment.

The victim, a young man in his 20s, was with his mother at the time. After visiting the pub, they proceeded to the restroom around 3:30 pm. As the young officer entered the toilet, he was unexpectedly confronted by Anderson, who had entered just moments before. According to court proceedings, Anderson opened the door and, as the officer passed by, deliberately bumped into him with his shoulder. In a brazen act, Anderson then reached out and grabbed the officer’s crotch, squeezing his penis and testicles in a brief but invasive assault that lasted approximately three seconds.

The young constable reacted swiftly, pushing Anderson away and challenging him about his behavior. The victim immediately left the restroom and promptly contacted the police, informing staff members of the assault. The pub staff detained Anderson until law enforcement arrived. During the confrontation, Anderson attempted to dismiss the incident by claiming he had merely brushed past the officer. However, the victim’s quick thinking and immediate reporting led to Anderson’s arrest.

Despite being detained, Anderson made a provocative remark to the arresting officer, stating, “It’s just your word against mine,” attempting to downplay the severity of his actions. The court records revealed that Anderson has a troubling history of sexual offenses. In 2014, he was convicted of exposing himself to two 12-year-old boys. The incident involved Anderson approaching the children while they were playing ‘manhunt’ and hiding in a bush, during which he exposed himself and asked, “Do you want to play with my c***?” The boys managed to capture photographs of Anderson with their mobile phones, which led to his arrest.

Further, the court noted that Anderson had a prior conviction from 2001 for sexually assaulting a 10-year-old boy. These repeated offenses underscore a pattern of predatory behavior. The current victim, described as looking younger than his actual age and of small stature, has reportedly experienced ongoing psychological distress since the incident.

During the trial, Anderson’s defense argued that he was suffering from health issues and suggested that the Probation Service could still work with him to address his offending behavior. However, Judge Clement Goldstone, QC, was skeptical of this claim. He emphasized that the prison system is well-equipped to handle Anderson’s health problems and expressed doubt about the sincerity of his health-related defenses. The judge also acknowledged the significant psychological impact the assault had on the young officer.

Ultimately, Anderson was sentenced to 12 months in prison after pleading guilty to sexual assault. Additionally, Judge Goldstone ordered him to register as a sex offender for a period of ten years, reflecting the seriousness of his crimes and the need for ongoing monitoring of his behavior in the community.
