DARLINGTON MAN ORDERED TO CARRY OUT UNPAID WORK AFTER SEXUAL ASSAULT
A Darlington man has been ordered to carry out unpaid work after being found guilty of a sexual assault on a woman.
Paul Trenholm, 54, of Sussex Way, Darlington, was convicted at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court on August 12.
The court was told Trenholm intentionally touched a woman aged 16 or over without her consent.
The court found that Trenholm did not reasonably believe the woman was consenting.
Trenholm was given a community order, requiring him to complete 150 hours of unpaid work within 12 months.
He must also register with the police at Darlington Police Station for five years, starting from September 11, 2025.
The court ordered Trenholm to pay £650 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £114 victim services surcharge.
He must pay these in monthly £50 installments.
