In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Ballymena, Paul Sempey, born on April 14, 1978, and residing at Queen Street, Ballymena BT42 2BG, was found guilty of abandoning his pet dog, Tyson, to die from neglect.
The incident, which took place in January 2015, was uncovered after an investigation by Animal Welfare Officers following a routine visit related to a non-payment issue concerning a dog license.
Sempey had recently moved back into his mother Jennifer Sempey's residence, leaving behind his loyal black Staffy, Tyson.
The authorities' investigation revealed that Tyson was left in a garage with the door open, where he was discovered in a severely emaciated state, barely alive.
