WINGATE THUG JAILED FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND STRANGULATION
Paul Routledge, aged 37 and residing on North Road West, Wingate, received a four-year prison sentence for domestic abuse against his former partner.
The offenses included two incidents of strangulation, theft of an internal CCTV camera from her residence, and an attempt to disable her CCTV system before choking her to the point of unconsciousness, leaving marks on her neck.
Routledge previously confessed to charges of deliberate strangulation twice, criminal damage, assault resulting in actual bodily harm, and stealing the camera.
His criminal history features violence, such as a punch directed at a woman in 2018 and a breach of a previous non-molestation order in 2011.
The court imposed four consecutive 24-month prison sentences and issued an indefinite restraining order preventing him from contacting the victim.
