PAUL PARKER SHAMES SKEGNESS WITH CHILD RAPE CRIMES AT LINCOLN CROWN COURT
In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Skegness, Paul Parker, a 57-year-old former hotelier, has been brought before Lincoln Crown Court to face serious allegations of child sexual offenses. The proceedings took place via video link on Monday, December 5, and Parker has since admitted to multiple charges related to the abuse of young boys.According to court records, Parker pleaded guilty to three counts of child rape involving a boy under the age of 13. These offenses are alleged to have occurred over a period stretching from September 2007 to September 2012. In addition to the rape charges, Parker also admitted to causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity on two separate occasions within the same timeframe. These admissions paint a grim picture of the crimes committed by Parker during those years.
The court heard that Parker's criminal history includes earlier allegations involving another young boy. Earlier this year, he pleaded guilty to four charges of indecent assault on a male and one count of indecency with a child, with these offenses dating back to between January 1997 and January 1999. Furthermore, Parker admitted to making an indecent image of a child between September 18, 2013, and September 30, 2014, adding to the severity of his criminal record.
Prosecutor Robert Underwood revealed that police identified a second victim after seizing a computer belonging to Parker, which provided crucial evidence linking him to additional abuse. The details of this second victim's case are now part of the ongoing legal proceedings.
Judge Michael Heath addressed Parker directly during the hearing, indicating that a prison sentence was inevitable. However, he decided to adjourn sentencing until a report from the probation service could be obtained. The judge emphasized the importance of assessing whether Parker poses a danger to the public before finalizing his sentence, stating, “I cannot sentence him without a report from the probation service which tells me if they consider him to be dangerous or not. Then I will have to consider if I think he is dangerous.”
As a result, Parker was remanded into custody and will remain in detention until his sentencing hearing, scheduled to take place at Lincoln Crown Court on January 6. The case has left the local community in a state of distress, highlighting the serious nature of the crimes committed by a man once known in Skegness for his hospitality business.
