SKEGNESS MAN JAILED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES
A man named Matthew Marvill of Dorothy Avenue, Skegness, has been sentenced to two years and six months in jail after admitting to a series of serious sexual offences against children. The offences include sending explicit images of his genitals, engaging in sexual conversations, and performing sexual acts in front of victims over a span of three years in the Chapel St Leonards area.
Marvill appeared before Lincoln Crown Court on Thursday, August 14, for sentencing after pleading guilty to these charges at an earlier hearing.
Detective Constable Carla Sutton stated, “Marvill acted in a wholly inappropriate manner and performed appalling acts in front of young children.
This behaviour won’t be tolerated in Lincolnshire or society at large and thanks to the courage and strength of the children involved, he won’t be able to abuse anyone else.” The charges against him include engaging in sexual communication with a child, exposure under the Sexual Offences Act 2003 (SOA 2003), sexual activity in presence of a child under 13, assaulting a girl under 13 by touching, and sexual assault on a female, among others.
Police encourage anyone who has been victimized in such a manner to contact authorities for support, assuring victims that they will be listened to and supported by trained officers.
