He also accused her of maliciously installing spyware on his phone, further demonstrating his paranoid state.

Eventually, the woman decided to report Milne’s behavior to the police, which led to his arrest and subsequent court appearance. During the proceedings, Milne admitted to sending offensive messages and making threatening calls between October 18 and 20 of the previous year. His defense argued that his actions were a consequence of his emotional turmoil following the breakup, which allegedly led him to turn to drugs and develop paranoid thoughts. The court, presided over by Sheriff Lesley Johnston, sentenced Milne with a formal admonition, meaning that while the conviction would remain on his record, no additional punishment was imposed at that time.
