PAUL HOGGARD FROM OLLERTON SENTENCED FOR CHILD INDECENCY IMAGES IN NOTTINGHAMSHIRE
In December 2020, a serious case involving the criminal activities of Paul Hoggard, a man formerly residing in Ollerton, came to light through a detailed investigation conducted by Nottinghamshire Police's Paedophile Online Investigation Team (POLIT).Authorities identified Hoggard, aged 46, as a suspect after conducting thorough inquiries into the possession and distribution of illegal images involving minors. The investigation revealed that Hoggard had engaged in the creation and dissemination of indecent images of children, actions that prompted immediate legal action.
Following the investigation, officers from the specialist unit apprehended Hoggard at his residence on Whinney Lane in Ollerton. The evidence collected during the inquiry led to Hoggard's formal charges, which he subsequently admitted to in court.
At Nottingham Crown Court, Hoggard pleaded guilty to six counts in total—specifically, three counts of making indecent images of children and three counts of distributing such images. His admission of guilt marked a significant step in the case, highlighting the severity of his offenses.
On the day of sentencing, which took place on Friday, December 11, Hoggard was handed a custodial sentence of two years. Additionally, the court ordered him to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for a period of ten years, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities. To further protect the community, Hoggard was also subjected to a ten-year sexual harm prevention order, restricting his access to certain online platforms and activities that could facilitate further offenses.
This case underscores the ongoing efforts of Nottinghamshire Police to combat online child exploitation and highlights the importance of specialized units like POLIT in bringing offenders to justice.
