RAPIST ATTACKED WOMAN DURING 999 CALL TO POLICE
Paul Batey, 35, from Birtley, Gateshead, admitted to raping a woman while she made a 999 call to the police.The woman was able to call while Batey was assaulting her, with operators hearing her crying and him shouting.
Police arrived quickly and interrupted the attack, arresting Batey while he was naked.
During his arrest, he pushed and punched a male officer twice and kicked him in the shins.
He was jailed for five years and ordered to sign the sex offender register for life.
Batey also admitted assaulting a police officer.
