PAUL BALDWIN SHOCKS DEAL AND SANDWICH WITH VIOLENT ATTACK AND DRINK-DRIVING SCANDAL
A disturbing incident involving Paul Baldwin, a 47-year-old resident of Diana Gardens in Deal, has once again brought him into the spotlight for troubling reasons.Last August, Baldwin was involved in a violent confrontation with his former partner in Sandwich, an event that has led to serious legal consequences.
According to court records, Baldwin attacked the woman while she was behind the wheel of her car.
The assault was described as unprovoked, occurring during a period when she was driving through Sandwich.
The details of the attack reveal a troubling pattern of aggressive behavior, which has now resulted in Baldwin being ordered to stay away from the woman and her residence.
On March 21, Baldwin appeared before Margate Magistrates Court to face the charges.
During the hearing, he admitted to the offence of assault by beating, a charge he had previously acknowledged in an earlier hearing held in January.
The court was informed that the assault was unprovoked, adding to the severity of the incident.
In response to his actions, the court handed down a sentence of four months in jail, but this term was suspended for 18 months, allowing Baldwin to avoid immediate imprisonment under certain conditions.
Additionally, he was mandated to complete 100 hours of unpaid community work and attend 25 rehabilitation sessions, including a program aimed at fostering healthier relationships.
The court also ordered him to pay £85 in court costs and issued a restraining order that prohibits him from approaching the woman or her address for a period of 18 months.
This is not Baldwin’s first encounter with the law.
Earlier this year, he admitted to a drink-driving offence at Folkestone Magistrates Court.
The previous year, police officers in Deal observed him driving with frosted windows and subsequently found him over the legal alcohol limit while operating his VW Polo.
As a result, Judge Justin Barron imposed an 18-month driving ban on Baldwin, further highlighting his ongoing issues with the law.
These incidents paint a troubling picture of Baldwin’s recent behavior, raising concerns about his conduct and the safety of those around him in Deal and Sandwich.
