DEAL WOMAN BREACHES RESTRAINING ORDER AFTER VIOLENT ATTACK ON EX
A woman named Nicole Lawrence from Deal was involved in an incident where she defied a court order by having contact with her ex-lover, Kieron Shervill. The court had previously banned her from any contact with him for five years following a violent attack in which she reportedly bit his cheek and arm, and also struck him with shards of glass from a broken mirror.
The attack caused him serious injuries and permanent scarring.
During the sentencing hearing last year, Lawrence admitted to assault causing actual bodily harm and received a 15-month jail sentence suspended for two years, along with 100 hours of unpaid work, rehabilitation requirements, and an alcohol abstinence condition.
Despite this, a restraining order was imposed two weeks later to prevent contact.
Earlier this week, she was brought before court again on charges of breaching this order.
Police responded after receiving information that she was in close proximity to Mr.
Shervill at around 7:30 am on June 27.
When police arrived at her home in Deal, she confirmed Mr.
Shervill was upstairs and that she was aware of the restraining order.
She later admitted that she allowed him into her home the previous evening because her mother let him in, claiming he was homeless and they felt sorry for him.
Lawrence pleaded guilty to breaching the restraining order and a suspended sentence, but the court also heard there had been no further incidents of contact and she was making progress on her probation.
The judge sentenced her to a 12-month community order, 40 hours of unpaid work, and a £200 fine, emphasizing that she was trying to help her ex and that no harm or distress was caused, although the breach was deliberate.
The judge also warned her of the serious implications of breaching the order and engaging with her ex again.
