CHURCH GRESLEY MAN JAILED FOR FILMING HIMSELF RAPING WOMAN
A man has been jailed after he filmed himself raping a woman while she was asleep.Parry Bains carried out the horrific attack in October 2022, and afterwards told the woman what he had done.
It later came to light he had filmed himself raping the victim - and the incident was reported to the police.
After a police investigation, he was subsequently charged with rape in September 2023.
He denied the offence but was found guilty after a trial at Derby Crown Court in October.
The 26-year-old, of Westacre Drive, Church Gresley, appeared at the same court for sentencing on November 7, when he was jailed for nine years.
He has also been handed a restraining order preventing him from having any further contact with the woman.
"I know it has been very difficult for her, particularly with it taking three years to now see this case to conclusion, but she has remained determined to ensure that Bains was brought to justice for his crimes and I hope that knowing he is now behind bars will provide her with some form of comfort and ability to begin rebuilding her life.
"Bains is clearly a dangerous sexual predator who simply cannot take no for an answer and his behaviour towards this woman was nothing short of horrific.
“The impact of his crimes will continue to affect her for years to come and my thoughts will remain with her as she looks to the future.
“I’d encourage anyone who has been raped or sexually assaulted to please come forward and report it to us.
