PAPAIPIT LINSE FROM HAVERFORDWEST SENTENCED FOR MANSLAUGHTER OF SEVEN-YEAR-OLD SON LOUIS

In a tragic case that has shocked the community of Haverfordwest in Pembrokeshire, a woman named Papaipit Linse has been found guilty of manslaughter following the death of her seven-year-old son, Louis Linse.

The heartbreaking incident occurred at their family home, where Linse was responsible for the child's death by strangulation.

During the court proceedings, Linse was recorded in a police 999 call, where she repeatedly confessed to the act, stating plainly, "I have killed my son." Her plea of guilty to manslaughter was entered at Swansea Crown Court, with the defense citing diminished responsibility as a key factor.

Evidence presented during the trial indicated that Linse was suffering from paranoid schizophrenia at the time of the incident, which significantly impaired her mental state.

The court was informed that Louis was discovered in his bed with a pillow over his face, and he tragically died shortly after being transported to Withybush General Hospital.

The circumstances of his death have left a profound impact on the local community and those involved in the case.

Judge Paul Thomas KC delivered the sentence, ordering that Linse be subject to an indefinite hospital order.

In his remarks, the judge expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, stating, "What happened to Louis was an unspeakable tragedy and I am quite aware that his loss is quite unbearable for many people.

I truly hope, however, that the reasoning behind the order will be understood by them." The court also highlighted that three psychiatrists had advised against imposing a prison sentence, emphasizing her mental health condition as a critical factor in the case.

Linse, who moved to the United Kingdom from Thailand in 2017, has been receiving treatment at a mental health facility in Bridgend.

The court acknowledged her mental health issues, and her future release will depend on ongoing assessments by mental health professionals.

The case underscores the importance of mental health support and the devastating consequences when such issues are not adequately managed.
