OMIEKE GLENN SENTENCED IN SOUTHWARK FOR RAPE AND KIDNAPPING OF 13-YEAR-OLD GIRL

In a case that has shocked the Southwark community, Omieke Glenn, aged 22, has been handed down an 11-year prison sentence for the heinous crimes of kidnapping and raping a 13-year-old girl. The sentencing took place at the Inner London Crown Court, where the severity of Glenn’s actions was fully acknowledged by the judicial system.

In addition to his prison term, Glenn will be subjected to a further five years of supervision on licence, reflecting the gravity of his offences. The court also imposed a sexual harm prevention order on him and mandated his registration on the Sex Offenders Register for an indefinite period, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities.

Glenn was found guilty on Wednesday, June 6, after a trial that revealed the disturbing details of the incident. The court heard that on the evening of May 6, 2017, at approximately 7:15 pm, the victim was walking along Copeland Road in Southwark, heading to visit a friend. It was during this walk that Glenn approached her and quickly seized her, threatening her with harm if she did not comply with his demands.

According to court records, Glenn then subjected the young girl to a sexual assault on a porch outside a residence. Disturbingly, he recorded the attack on his mobile phone, capturing the assault on video. The victim was further assaulted by Glenn before her friends arrived at the scene, interrupting the attack and preventing further harm.

Following the incident, the girl immediately reported the assault to police officers at a South London police station. The investigation quickly gained momentum, leading to Glenn’s arrest on May 7, 2017, at his home address. He was formally charged on December 1, 2017, after being identified through a police identification parade and forensic evidence linking him to the crime scene.
