On October 17, 2025, a man convicted of murder admitted to the killing of his pregnant girlfriend by stabbing her 19 times after being released from prison on licence.
The individual, March, aged 47 and from Surrey Quays in south-east London, had previously entered a plea of manslaughter by diminished responsibility but denied the charge of murder.
However, he unexpectedly changed his plea during the trial, admitting to murdering the 32-year-old woman on the specified date.
This change occurred after a legal development revealed that a report from a defence expert, scheduled to be discussed in court, no longer supported his diminished responsibility argument.
Subsequently, Mr Justice Murray discharged the jury at the Old Bailey and lifted restrictions on reporting his previous murder conviction.
