OLIVER BOND'S SHOCKING CRIMES IN CARDENDEN, KINROSS, AND PERTH REVEALED

In July 2023, a series of disturbing criminal acts committed by Oliver Bond, also known as Lucas Cole, have come to light, revealing a pattern of sexual offenses spanning several years and multiple locations in Scotland, including Cardenden, Kinross, and Perth.

Bond, a 32-year-old man who has previously changed his identity following a conviction for a sex attack on a transgender woman, was found guilty of multiple charges involving the sexual abuse of minors and vulnerable individuals. His latest trial took place at Perth Sheriff Court, where the jury convicted him of a series of heinous acts committed over a period of six years.

The court heard that Bond began his abusive behavior at an address in Milnathort, where he indecently assaulted a 15-year-old boy between July 1, 2010, and December 31, 2010. During this attack, Bond sexually assaulted the sleeping victim while he was incapable of giving consent, a fact that underscored the severity of the crime. The assault was described as particularly serious, involving Bond carrying out a sexual act on the boy while he was unconscious.

Further charges revealed that Bond continued his pattern of abuse in Kinross, where he sexually assaulted the same victim between September 5, 2013, and September 4, 2014. This attack involved Bond repeatedly grabbing the teenager’s private parts, pulling down his trousers and underwear, and performing a sexual act. The court also found that Bond assaulted the boy again in Milnathort from September 5, 2014, to September 4, 2016, by touching his private parts while he was asleep and unable to consent.

Adding to the gravity of his offenses, the Crown presented evidence of Bond’s sexual assault on a transgender woman in Perth on May 14, 2018. The victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, testified that she was intoxicated and unable to consent when Bond, at his Perth residence, touched her inappropriately after they had watched television and consumed alcohol. She described waking up to find Bond’s hand under her underwear, emphasizing that she was not in a position to give consent at that moment.

Throughout the trial, Bond denied the allegations of indecent and sexual assault, claiming that the acts were consensual and occurred between “friends with benefits.” However, the jury took only an hour to reach a guilty verdict on all charges, highlighting the strength of the evidence against him.

Judge David Hall, presiding over the case, sentenced Bond to be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for five years and under social work supervision for 18 months. Additionally, Bond was subjected to a six-month curfew and ordered to complete 250 hours of unpaid community service as an alternative to imprisonment. The judge expressed some hesitation in allowing Bond to remain free, stating, “With some hesitation I am going to allow you to remain at liberty. You were convicted by the jury of all three charges. You just don’t get the seriousness of this matter.”

Bond’s criminal history also includes a conviction from October 2019, when he was found guilty of sexually assaulting a transgender woman at a flat in Perth. The victim testified that she had been drinking and fell asleep after watching television with Bond, only to wake up and find him touching her inappropriately. She recounted that Bond’s hand was under her clothing, and she was unable to give consent at that time. The court ordered Bond to perform 200 hours of unpaid work at the High Court in Edinburgh, with Judge Lord Tyre describing the incident as “extremely distressing” for the victim.

In a separate incident in May of the previous year, Bond, then 28, sexually assaulted a woman in Perth after she had recently split from her boyfriend. The victim, who cannot be named, testified that she had been drinking and passed out at Bond’s flat. She woke to find Bond’s arm over her body and her trousers unbuttoned, with Bond touching her inappropriately. Although initially facing a charge of rape, Bond was ultimately convicted of a lesser sexual assault charge and received a community payback order, including 200 hours of unpaid work, a conduct requirement, and a one-year supervision order. The judge noted that a social worker’s report indicated a low risk of reoffending.

These cases collectively paint a disturbing picture of Bond’s pattern of predatory behavior across different locations in Scotland, involving vulnerable victims who were unable to consent. His actions have caused significant distress and trauma, and the legal proceedings underscore the seriousness with which the Scottish justice system is treating such offenses.
