SELKIRK MAN HARASSED AND SCARED ESTRANGED WIFE AT HER HOME
March 2014 A man who knocked on the doors and windows of his estranged wife’s residence faced a reprimand.Norman Scott, who resides at Synton Parkhead Farm Cottages, Selkirk, admitted guilt to charges of refusing to leave and attempting to gain entry to an apartment located at Bourtree Place, Hawick, on February 16.
Prosecutor Graham Fraser stated that Scott and his wife had been separated for three years.
He added, “He works as a motor engineer, while his wife handles his bookkeeping.” It was reported that they exchanged text messages shortly after midnight, and the wife was awakened around 8:20 a.m.

The woman told him to leave, but he responded, “Let me in through the door, or I will come through the window,” Mr.
Fraser explained.
Scott told police he had gone to the residence to discuss messages but did not intend to cause fear, the prosecutor noted.
In her defense, Alison Marshall mentioned that Scott, aged 53, and his wife are in new relationships.
She emphasized, “Their relationship remains amicable, and this incident originated from harmless text exchanges.”
