DYLAN WALKER APPEARS IN COURT IN SELKIRK AND PLEADS GUILTY
Dylan Walker, aged 25, appeared from custody on Monday afternoon and pleaded guilty to the charges against him.
Two weeks prior, he had been released on bail by the same court after admitting to possessing and distributing indecent images of children.
The court was informed that police raided an address on Chapel Street in Selkirk in May last year after being alerted that someone had uploaded "child sexual abuse material" via Kik, a free mobile messaging application.
During the investigation, officers discovered that Walker possessed indecent images of children, as well as extreme pornographic material, on three devices—a tablet and two mobile phones.
Among the images found were 30 in Category A, which is considered the most severe level.
Walker faced three charges dating back to 2019, including taking or allowing photographs or pseudo-photographs of children at his residence and elsewhere.
Sheriff Janys Scott postponed sentencing until September 19 to allow for background reports, and Walker was placed on the sex offenders register in the meantime.
Furthermore, at Monday’s hearing concerning the breach of his bail conditions, Sheriff Peter Paterson deferred the sentence until September 19 and also imposed a night-time curfew at Walker’s home.
