NIGEL SAWYER SENTENCED IN SUNBURY FOR SEXUAL ASSAULTS ON YOUNG GIRL IN RICHMOND AND SUNBURY

In a case that has shocked the local communities of Sunbury and Richmond, Nigel Sawyer, a 64-year-old former borough commander for the London Fire Brigade, has been sentenced to nine years in prison for the sexual assault of a young girl. The crimes took place several years ago, during which Sawyer exploited the trust of the victim, who was under the age of 13 at the time.

Sawyer, who resided on Catherine Drive in Sunbury, was brought before Kingston Crown Court to face charges related to four counts of sexual assault against the young girl. The court proceedings revealed the disturbing nature of the offenses, which involved a pattern of abuse that spanned over a period of time, during which Sawyer manipulated the girl’s trust as she grew older.
