VILE SUNBURY PAEDOPHILE JAILED FOR ABUSING GIRL AS YOUNG AS SIX
A man convicted of sexually abusing a young girl has been sentenced to 11 years in prison.Richard Rowles, 42, of Churchill Way, Sunbury, began abusing his victim when she was only six years old and repeatedly assaulted her over a period of time.
The girl only came forward to authorities in October 2017, which led to a police investigation and his subsequent conviction on multiple charges, including sexual assault of a girl under 13 and inciting a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity.
Detective Constable Sara McDowell, who led the investigation, commented: "I would like to pay tribute to the victim for her bravery in not only coming forward in the first place, but then for re-living her ordeal when she gave evidence in court.
I hope that the fact that Rowles has received a lengthy jail sentence can help her to move on with her life." Surrey Police emphasized their serious stance on sexual offences: "We take all reports involving sexual offences extremely seriously and encourage anyone who believes they have been a victim of a similar offence to come forward."
