ERDINGTON SEX PREDATOR NICKY HOLLYOAKE SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEXUAL EXPLOITATION ON SNAPCHAT

In November 2020, a disturbing case emerged involving a man from Erdington who exploited two young girls through social media, leading to a severe criminal conviction.

The individual, identified as Nicky Hollyoake, aged 30 and residing on Hunton Road in Erdington, was found guilty of a series of heinous crimes related to child sexual exploitation facilitated via Snapchat.

Hollyoake was sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 14 years after a court heard how he manipulated and coerced two 12-year-old girls into performing degrading sexual acts on camera.

The court was told that he used threats and intimidation to ensure compliance, including threats to share explicit images and videos with the girls’ friends if they refused to follow his commands.

Additionally, he taunted them with threats of rape, kidnapping, and murder, which left the victims in a state of constant fear and trauma.

The investigation into Hollyoake’s activities was a collaborative effort between West Midlands Police and Avon and Somerset Police, which eventually led to his arrest and prosecution.

During the court proceedings, one of the victims described her experience, saying, “I was scared to be like a child, it’s like he made me grow up too fast not giving me the chance to experience things with my friends in case I wouldn’t be home in time and he would get mad.

I couldn’t do anything with my family.

I shut my door as they walked in.” Her mother expressed her anguish, stating, “This monster has taken away our daughter’s innocence and childhood.” The second victim also shared her feelings of betrayal and loss of trust, revealing that she now feels less safe than before.

Her mother added that “everything became a struggle” after the abuse, and that “silence fills the room instead of laughter,” highlighting the profound impact on the family.

Hollyoake admitted to ten charges of causing or inciting a child into engaging in sexual activity and two charges of engaging in sexual communication with a minor.

However, he denied two additional counts of inciting sexual exploitation, which were ordered to remain on file.

Prosecutor Rebecca Wade detailed the disturbing nature of Hollyoake’s actions, explaining that he began making vile demands after the victims blocked him on social media.

She recounted that Hollyoake knew the girls were only 12 but continued to pursue them, threatening to expose their chats and label them as “dirty little s***” if they did not obey him.

The court heard that the sexual contact began at this point.

Ms.

Wade further explained that Hollyoake coerced the girls into pretending to be bisexual, calling each other girlfriends, and forcing them to be naked in group chats where they performed sexual acts.

He referred to them as his “child porn slaves,” a term that underscores the severity of his exploitation.

During police interviews, Hollyoake admitted to “talking” to both girls but claimed he believed they were 18, before ultimately refusing to comment further.

Addressing Hollyoake at sentencing, Judge Heidi Kubik QC described him as a “determined, manipulative and predatory offender.” She emphasized that he used the internet to target and groom two 12-year-old girls, manipulating them into performing escalating sexual acts for his own gratification.

The judge highlighted the devastating impact on the victims, noting that Hollyoake’s insistence on them calling him “daddy” had caused significant emotional harm and strained their relationships with their own fathers.

Given the seriousness of his crimes, Hollyoake was declared a “dangerous offender” and sentenced to an “extended sentence.” The court ruled that he poses a “serious risk of causing serious harm” through further offences.

He is required to serve at least two-thirds of his prison term before being eligible for parole, followed by a minimum of six years on licence.

Additionally, Hollyoake was issued a sexual harm prevention order and mandated to register as a sex offender indefinitely, reflecting the gravity of his crimes and the ongoing risk he poses to the community.
