BIRMINGHAM TEACHER SENT TO PRISON FOR EXPLOITING YOUNG GIRLS ONLINE
A teacher from Birmingham, who was addicted to pornography, sent explicit images of himself to young girls through Snapchat and requested nude photos from them.The individual, Jamie Morgan, used social media pretending to be a teenage boy in order to target three females, with the youngest victim being only 12 years old.
Authorities identified him after he revealed part of his face in a photo he had sent, which allowed them to match the furniture in his residence to an image he shared.
Morgan, aged 27 from Park Close, pleaded guilty to charges including inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity and sending four explicit images or videos.
He was found guilty at Birmingham Crown Court on July 10 and received a sentence of three years and six months in prison.
He was also ordered to register as a sex offender and comply with a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
The police investigation uncovered that Morgan added the 12-year-old victim on Snapchat, then inquired about her age and appearance.
He called her “hot and sexy,” claimed to be 17, and requested nude photos.
The girl’s father tried to find the account but discovered it had been deleted.
Morgan also targeted a 16-year-old girl, sending her explicit images and asking for similar content, which she blocked after receiving a picture of him holding his genitals.
One of Morgan's victims reported experiencing depression, suicidal thoughts, and mistrust of men following his actions.
During court proceedings, Morgan’s lawyer mentioned that the defendant exhibited traits of autism and mental health issues, but also had a high level of intelligence, having earned a Master’s degree in Mathematics.
The lawyer argued that Morgan’s behavior was influenced by his pornography addiction, and Morgan expressed remorse, saying, “I hate myself for doing it.
I feel so guilty.
I wish I could go back in time and slap myself.” Judge Richard Bond recognized Morgan’s intelligence but highlighted his attraction to young girls and criticized his lack of understanding of social norms.
Morgan was sentenced to imprisonment and placed under strict restrictions as a registered sex offender.
