YORK DOMESTIC ABUSER ADMITS CRUELTY TOWARDS BULLDOG
A MAN with a history of violence towards women has admitted breaking a dog’s leg by kicking or throwing it downstairs.Nicholas Radley-Holmes, 37, also admitted threatening his partner that he would get her evicted from her home, threatening to damage her car and her home, making false allegations about her to her employers and making demeaning post about her on social media.
He has previously been jailed at York Crown Court for violence towards a former partner.
Radley-Holmes, of no fixed address, originally denied causing unnecessary suffering to an Old English bulldog and coercive and controlling behaviour in an intimidate relationship.
But on the day he was due to stand trial, he changed his plea to guilty to both charges.
The cruelty to the dog happened in April 2023, and the coercive and controlling behaviour between December 29, 2024, and October 3, 2025.
He has been remanded in custody since his first court appearance last autumn.
His barrister Jordan Millican said he knew he would receive a jail sentence but asked for probation officers to prepare a report on him before sentence is passed.
The Recorder of York, Judge Sean Morris, granted the request and ordered that Radley-Holmes remain in custody until he is sentenced on April 22 at York Crown Court.
