NICHOLAS METSON BRUTALLY MURDERS AND DISMEMBERS WIFE IN LINCOLN

In a chilling case that has shocked the community of Lincoln, Nicholas Metson, aged 28, has been convicted and sentenced for the horrific murder and subsequent dismemberment of his wife, Holly Bramley. The tragic events unfolded in their shared flat in Lincoln during March of the previous year, marking a dark chapter in local crime history.

According to court reports, Nicholas Metson carried out a brutal attack on Holly, stabbing her to death within their residence. Following the murder, he employed a disturbing array of tools to dismember her body into over 200 pieces, a gruesome act that demonstrated a calculated level of violence and detachment. The court heard that after committing this heinous act, Metson contacted a friend, Joshua Hancock, also 28, and paid him to assist in disposing of the remains. The two men then carried out a disposal operation, with some body parts being thrown into the River Witham near the village of Bassingham, approximately ten miles from Lincoln. Despite their efforts, some parts of Holly’s body have yet to be recovered, leaving a trail of unanswered questions and ongoing investigations.

Initially, Nicholas Metson denied any involvement in Holly’s death, claiming innocence. However, as the case progressed, he eventually pleaded guilty to the charges before the trial commenced. His sentencing resulted in a life imprisonment term, with a minimum of 19 years and 316 days behind bars. Joshua Hancock, who admitted to obstructing a coroner during the investigation, received a sentence of three years and three months, along with a 10-year sexual harm prevention order. The court was informed that Nicholas and Holly had been together since 2016 and married in 2021. However, by early 2023, their relationship had deteriorated, and Holly was last seen on CCTV footage on 17 March. In the days following her disappearance, Nicholas attempted to cover his tracks by leaving a note on their flat door claiming he was isolating due to Covid and canceled a planned takeaway order.

Further investigation revealed that Nicholas had stabbed Holly and used various tools to dismember her body, keeping some parts at their flat while sending false messages claiming she had left him. Authorities also uncovered suspicious internet searches and evidence of hacking into her social media accounts, indicating a premeditated effort to conceal the truth. Police responded to concerns for Holly’s safety by visiting the flat, but initially found no one present. When Nicholas finally responded to police inquiries, he claimed ignorance about her whereabouts, citing mental health issues, self-harm tendencies, and domestic abuse as part of his explanation.

Following his arrest, police discovered some of Holly’s body parts in carrier bags, though critical parts remain missing. Holly’s family expressed their devastation and described Nicholas as a “monster,” emphasizing the tragic consequences of domestic abuse. They urged others to seek support and raise awareness about domestic violence. The court highlighted that Holly’s family will never fully understand why she was murdered, leaving a lasting scar on their lives. Outside the courthouse, her loved ones mourned her loss, recalling her vibrant personality, her love for singing, and her affection for animals. They called for increased awareness and prevention efforts to combat domestic violence, hoping Holly’s tragic story will serve as a warning to others.
