LEVEN MAN JAILED FOR SEXTING AND POSSESSING INDECENT IMAGES OF MINORS
Neil Rawlinson, of Baird Crescent in Leven, was caught in a sting operation conducted by paedophile hunters.Believing he was communicating with a 12-year-old girl, Rawlinson engaged in highly sexualised chats, including asking about Santa and sending explicit images.
He openly displayed his age on his social media profile and asked the fake girl if she had written a letter to Santa, suggesting he could fit into a Santa suit for her.
On Christmas Eve, members of Forbidden Scotland confronted Rawlinson at his home and broadcasted their interaction live on Facebook.
Rawlinson later expressed to police that he thought he was speaking to a woman engaging in 'age play.' Police found Category B and C indecent images of girls aged 11 to 15 on his devices, along with other disturbing material involving underage girls.
During the court hearing at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, Rawlinson, aged 59, admitted to multiple charges, including sending sexually explicit messages and images of his genitals to who he believed was a child.
He requested to remain in custody, stating he found it difficult to be released on bail, and was subsequently remanded in custody and placed on the Sex Offenders Register pending sentencing.
