WALSALL 'BAD BOY' JAILED FOR BRUTAL ASSAULTS ON EX-GIRLFRIENDS
A man named Nathaniel Hamilton, aged 31 and from Acacia Avenue, Walsall, has been sentenced to 21 years in prison for violent assaults on two ex-girlfriends.Hamilton was convicted at Birmingham Crown Court of attempted murder, rape, and assault.
One of the victims, an 18-year-old woman, suffered a perforated eardrum and bruises on her neck that could be linked to the trainers Hamilton was wearing.
The court detailed that Hamilton attacked her on 9 November last year after forcing entry into her flat, dragging her to the ground, and strangling her until she lost consciousness.
The court also revealed that Hamilton had previously inflicted severe injuries on an earlier ex-girlfriend, including a perforated eardrum, disfigurement, and bruising, and that he had lured her to his home under false pretenses before threatening her with a sawn-off shotgun.
The assault involved hitting her across the neck, strangulation, and causing her to almost lose consciousness.
The sentencing also considered the brutal attacks which required hospital treatment, and Hamilton's behavior was linked to his belief that his victims had been unfaithful.
Sgt Alisha Reavley from West Midlands Police stated, 'The force that Hamilton used could easily have killed his victim.
The degree of injury was so severe that bruising on her neck could be matched to the trainers he wore.
This was the last straw for this young girl who had suffered months of abuse from Hamilton.' Additionally, Hamilton had previously threatened an ex-girlfriend with a sawn-off shotgun, during which he hit her across the neck and strangled her.
Following his conviction, it was confirmed that Hamilton would remain on the sex offenders register for life.
The case was highlighted in a BBC documentary called 'Bad Boy,' which followed Hamilton’s attempts to reintegrate into society after a prior offence.
