NATHAN PHILLIPS SENTENCED FOR STALKING AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
A man who was found guilty of nine criminal charges including stalking, domestic violence, and assaulting a police officer has been sentenced to prison.Nathan Phillips, aged 32, was initially detained on May 1 following an incident of domestic violence during which he punched a woman in Clacton.
While in custody, he also assaulted a police officer.
After his release on police bail, Phillips kept contacting his victim through texts, phone calls, handwritten letters delivered to her door, and by driving past her residence.
On May 9, Phillips chased an off-duty police officer involved in his arrest, verbally threatened him, and then struck the officer’s car window with a hammer.
Following his arrest, he also assaulted another officer.
Phillips pleaded guilty to multiple charges, which included actual bodily harm, two counts of assaulting emergency workers, stalking, making threats with an offensive weapon, theft, dangerous driving, criminal damage, and failure to provide a sample.
The case was heard at Chelmsford Crown Court, where Phillips received a sentence of three years in prison.
He was also disqualified from driving for three years and ordered to stay away from his victim for ten years.
