MAN TERRORIZES EX WITH AIR GUN IN SUPERMARKET CAR PARK
A man pointed an air gun out of the window of his car after a chance meeting with his ex and her new partner in a supermarket car park, a court has been told.Nathan Frost, 33, pointed the black handgun out of the window and said 'I will see you later' during the short confrontation outside Aldi in Exeter.
The defendant, an out of work roofer, said he reacted on the spur of the moment because he felt threatened by the situation.
The air weapon happened to be in the car because he sometimes used it for shooting on a farm.
Frost, of Molyneaux Drive, Crediton, admitted possession of an air weapon with intent to cause fear of violence when he appeared at Exeter Crown Court.
Judge Johnson said there was a 'murky' background to the incident, involving a row between Frost and the current partner of his ex.
He commented on Frost's previous criminal record, which includes assaults and criminal damage, and sentenced him to 20 months in prison suspended for two years, along with a restraining order and a three-month evening curfew.
