NATHAN ELLIS FROM TELFORD SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS FOR RAPE AND ATTEMPTED RAPE OF 12-YEAR-OLD GIRL

In a case that has shocked the community of Telford, Nathan Ellis, a 21-year-old resident of Connemara Meadow in Horsehay, has been sentenced to a significant prison term after being convicted of serious sexual offenses involving a young girl.

The incidents, which took place in May of the previous year, involved Ellis twice raping a 12-year-old girl, actions that have left a lasting impact on the victim and her family.

During the proceedings at Shrewsbury Crown Court, it was revealed that Ellis had admitted to two separate charges related to the assaults.

The court was informed that these offenses could have continued unchecked had the girl’s parents not intervened and discovered the disturbing acts.

The judge, Peter Barrie, sentenced Ellis to 10 years in prison for each of the two rape charges, with the sentences to run concurrently, meaning he will serve the combined time simultaneously.

Additionally, Ellis received a seven-year concurrent sentence for an attempted rape involving the same young girl.

Beyond the prison sentence, Ellis was also subjected to a lifelong sexual offences prevention order, which imposes strict restrictions on his conduct and movements.

He is also required to register as a sex offender, a measure aimed at monitoring his activities and preventing further harm.

Law enforcement officials expressed their satisfaction with the outcome of the case.

Detective Inspector Mike Nally, from the Criminal Investigation Department at Malinsgate Police Station in Telford, stated, “I am pleased that Nathan Ellis will now serve a significant custodial sentence and that the danger he poses has been recognised.” He further added, “The investigation has been extremely upsetting for the victim and her family, and I hope that knowing Ellis will be in prison for a considerable period will help them begin to move forward with their lives.” Judge Barrie, after reviewing social and psychological reports, commented on Ellis’s awareness of the gravity of his actions.

He expressed concern that Ellis might not fully comprehend the seriousness of his offenses and noted that the assaults might have continued had they not been discovered.

The court also heard that the young victim was deeply disturbed and upset by the traumatic events she endured, highlighting the profound impact of the crimes on her well-being.
