NADAL MEHEMED SENTENCED IN ST HELENS FOR RAPE AND ROBBERY

In a case that has shocked the community of St Helens, 36-year-old Nadal Mehemed from South John Street has been handed a substantial prison sentence of nine years after admitting to serious criminal charges involving sexual assault and robbery.

The incident took place on a Saturday in June 2024, when Mehemed entered a private residence and subjected a woman to a brutal assault that culminated in rape. The details of the attack reveal a disturbing level of violence and a blatant disregard for the victim's safety and well-being.

During the assault, Mehemed went to great lengths to prevent the woman from seeking help. He forcibly seized her mobile phone in an attempt to stop her from contacting emergency services. Despite his efforts, the woman managed to connect her call to police call handlers, and a portion of the recorded conversation was later used as crucial evidence in the case against him.
