CHESTER MAN FACES CHILD SEX CRIME TRIAL AFTER COST UK STING
A Chester man is set to stand trial next year accused of multiple serious child sex offences following a sting carried out by paedophile-hunting group Child Online Safety Team (COST UK).Muhammad Hassan Raza appeared at Chester Crown Court on 8th September 2025, where he pleaded not guilty to a string of disturbing allegations.
According to official court correspondence, Raza faces six charges in total, including: Attempting to cause or incite a girl aged 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity (two counts) Attempting to cause a child aged 13 to 15 to watch or look at an image of sexual activity (two counts) Attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child (two counts) The case was first brought to police attention after COST UK conducted an undercover operation, documenting the alleged communications before handing over all evidence to authorities.
Raza has been released on bail under strict conditions, including: No unsupervised contact with anyone under 16 No online communication with anyone under 18 Must present all electronic devices to police on request and avoid social media or dating apps except in emergencies.
A full trial has been scheduled for the week commencing 28th September 2026 at Chester Crown Court.
The Witness Care Officer confirmed that those involved in the case will be contacted closer to the time if further evidence or attendance is required.
