LONGSIGHT MAN MUBASHIR HUSSAIN SENTENCED FOR GROOMING AND SEXUAL ABUSE OF 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN MANCHESTER

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Longsight, Mubashir Hussain, aged 45, has been convicted and sentenced for grooming and engaging in sexual activities with a young girl aged just 14. The incident, which unfolded over a period of several months, culminated in Hussain receiving a prison sentence and a series of strict legal orders aimed at preventing further harm.

The case was brought to light after Hussain, a resident of Armitage Avenue in Longsight, pleaded guilty to two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child. On Tuesday, 11 April 2017, Manchester Crown Court at Crown Square handed down a sentence of four years and three months behind bars. In addition to his imprisonment, Hussain was subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and was ordered to register as a sex offender for life, reflecting the severity of his crimes.

The troubling sequence of events began in late 2014 when Hussain first made contact with his young victim. The girl, who was only 14 at the time, initially reached out by calling the takeaway where Hussain was employed in Longsight, seeking to speak with another staff member. Instead, Hussain responded by providing her with his personal mobile number. Over the following weeks, the two maintained communication through phone calls and messages. Despite being aware of her age, Hussain continued to engage with her, with the girl explicitly stating her age early in their conversations.

Hussain exploited her vulnerability by pretending to be a concerned friend, offering her support and advice on various personal issues. Their interactions escalated over time, with Hussain arranging to meet the girl in person. These meetings took place in secluded areas or at empty properties, where the nature of their relationship became increasingly inappropriate. During these encounters, Hussain would compliment the girl and buy her chocolates, but the meetings eventually turned sexual.

The police were alerted in May 2015 after a report was made regarding Hussain’s conduct. Following this, he was swiftly arrested and taken into custody. The case highlights the dangers of grooming and the importance of vigilance in protecting vulnerable minors from exploitation. Hussain’s sentencing underscores the legal system’s commitment to punishing offenders who abuse their positions of trust and manipulate young victims for their own gratification.
