TELFORD SEX OFFENDER MUBAREK ALI ADMITS MORE CHARGES
A man incarcerated for child sex offences in Telford has confessed to additional charges.Mubarek Ali, aged 40 and previously held at HMP Hewell, pleaded guilty at Shrewsbury Crown Court to charges including rape, trafficking, and other offences committed against a young girl during the years 2004 to 2008.
Ali had already been part of a notorious paedophile ring uncovered in the town and convicted in 2012 as part of Operation Chalice.
He is scheduled to be sentenced on 20 May.
Detective Sergeant Cindi Lee of West Mercia Police described the case as 'harrowing and shocking' and emphasized the traumatic impact on the victim, stating: 'Ali caused what is likely to be lifelong trauma.' She further condemned his actions, calling him 'a highly dangerous individual who preyed on young girls,' and expressed disbelief that such crimes could be committed.
Ali was initially released in 2017 after serving half his sentence but was recalled to prison nine months later for breaching his license conditions.
His prison term was extended to 2032 due to these breaches.
Despite an unsuccessful application for early release in 2022, the parole board decided he continued to pose a risk to the public.
