RAPIST WHO ATTACKED MEN HE MET ON GRINDR SENTENCED FOR NEW ASSAULT
The Bedford-born individual known as the Grindr rapist, who appeared on the television program 24 Hours in Police Custody, has been sentenced following another assault.On Wednesday, April 8, Mohammed Altaher, aged 41 and currently housed at HMP Bure in Norfolk, was unanimously convicted by a jury at Aylesbury Crown Court of one count of male rape.
During the same court session, he received a prison sentence of 12 years.
This sentence includes a five-year custodial period and an extended licence of seven years, which will run alongside the time he is already serving.
The crime in question took place in 2019 when Altaher, previously residing on Cardington Road in Bedford, visited a victim's home in Milton Keynes.
The victim, a man in his forties, was assaulted and raped by Altaher during this incident.
Altaher voluntarily participated in an interview on November 21, 2024.
He was later formally charged via postal requisition on October 22, 2025.
