PAEDOPHILE, 44, TOUCHES HIMSELF WHILE STARING AT GIRL, 11, ON TRAIN - 'A SERIOUS DANGER'
A serial sex offender has been sent back to jail after touching his privates while staring at a girl on a train.Tajinder Sabherwal, 44, of High Street, Bedford, boarded a service from London St Pancras to Peterborough on March 22 last year.
He sat next to a woman traveling with her 11-year-old daughter, who was sitting opposite him.
When the mother turned towards him, she saw him touching himself over his shorts and staring at her child.
She made eye contact, prompting Sabherwal to stand up and walk away in realization he had been caught.
The mother texted the British Transport Police (BTP), and officers boarded the train at Biggleswade, but Sabherwal had already left.
Detectives identified him, and he handed himself in at a police station in Luton.
He responded 'no comment' during police interviews and was found to have a lengthy history of similar offences, including an 18-month sentence in 2021 for exposing himself and inappropriate touching at stations and trains in Surrey and London.
Sabherwal appeared at St Albans Crown Court on April 7, where he received a two-year and two-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to Outraging Public Decency and was issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Det Constable Agata Barker described the incident as extremely disturbing, emphasizing Sabherwal's status as a repeat offender and a serious danger to women and girls.
