MOHAMMED AL SUNBURY AND KHALIL CAUGHT IN SHOCKING RAPE SPREE

In March 2005, a disturbing case unfolded involving Mohammed Al, a 48-year-old man from Lincoln Way, Sunbury, who was convicted of multiple heinous sexual offenses against young women. The court heard that Al, who had a reputation for claiming he was an irresistible figure, believed that two teenage girls could not resist engaging in sexual acts with him despite only having just met him. His actions and attitude towards his victims revealed a dangerous pattern of predatory behavior that shocked the local community.

Al-Khalil was found guilty by a jury at Isleworth Crown Court on several serious charges. These included two counts of raping an 18-year-old woman and one count of falsely imprisoning her on April 5 of the previous year, as well as a charge of raping a 16-year-old girl on April 14. The court was told that Al had threatened his victims with violence, claiming he was a 'gangster' and warning that he would 'slice them up into little pieces and bury them.'

During sentencing, Judge Hezlett Colgan emphasized the ongoing danger Al posed to young women. The judge stated, “It is apparent from the reports on you that you remain a danger to young women and, more seriously, you are in denial.” He further ordered that Al serve at least two-thirds of his sentence before being eligible for release, and only if he accepts his guilt and participates in sex offenders’ rehabilitation programs while incarcerated. It was also confirmed that Al would be registered on the sex offenders’ register for life, underscoring the severity of his crimes.

Following the conviction, Detective Sergeant Gary Staunton of the Sapphire Unit, a specialized team investigating sexual offenses, highlighted that Al-Khalil’s offenses occurred within a short span of time. The police expressed concern that there may be additional victims and urged anyone with relevant information to contact them at 020 8247 6363.

The first victim, an 18-year-old woman, was approached in a casual manner in the public gallery of a magistrates court. She was then coerced into a locked car, where she was raped twice by Al-Khalil, who called himself a gangster and threatened her with death, as prosecutor Rosie Burns explained to the jury. The young woman, whose identity remains protected, was with two friends at Feltham Magistrates Court on April 5 last year when she encountered Al-Khalil. They engaged in conversation throughout the day, shared lunch, and he convinced her he could be trusted. Later, he offered to drive her home to retrieve her belongings so she could stay overnight with her friend.

However, the situation took a sinister turn during the drive. Al-Khalil locked the car doors near a pub, refused to let her out, and threatened to kill her if she tried. He then drove to a parking lot off Ham Common, where he forced her to remove her trousers and underwear, again threatening her before raping her. The assault continued as he drove her back to her home, where he reversed into a garage area and raped her once more, this time pinning her arms above her head. During these terrifying moments, Al-Khalil warned her not to report the incident, claiming he would kill her and her family once he knew their whereabouts.

The following day, the victim contacted friends, and they reported the incident to Hounslow Police. The second victim, a 16-year-old girl, was in a phone booth on Staines Road at Bedfont when Al-Khalil approached her, asking for directions to Feltham. He then pulled her into his car, drove her to his home, and offered her a cup of tea. During her visit, he took photographs of her, claiming she resembled actress Jodie Foster. He then lured her upstairs, made her strip under threat, and raped her. Afterward, he drove her home, and she managed to note down his car registration number.

Al-Khalil attempted to halt the trial by requesting to stop proceedings, but the judge refused his request. Subsequently, he dismissed his legal team and chose to defend himself, insisting that both encounters involved consensual sex. He claimed that neither girl was forced and that they were both eager to engage in sexual activity with him. His denial of the assaults and his self-representation drew further attention to the case, which highlighted the dangerous and manipulative behavior of the defendant from Khalil, Sunbury.
