CONVICTED: MEN FOUND GUILTY OF ABUSING VULNERABLE GIRL IN TELFORD
Four men have been found guilty of sexually abusing a vulnerable young girl in Telford, who described to the court how she was traded among men from the age of 13.
The victim recounted that she was forced to perform sex acts in various locations, including a churchyard and above a shop on a dirty mattress, and was violently abused when she tried to refuse their advances.
The court heard that these incidents spanned over a period of 15 years.
The prosecution described how the girl was essentially passed around 'like a piece of meat.' She also revealed that she often thought about taking her own life, and she felt that school teachers did not intervene despite rumors about her.
The girl was sold for sex initially by Tanveer Ahmed, who was not on trial because he has been deported to Pakistan, after being jailed previously for controlling a child prostitute.
Later, the victim encountered Mohammed Ali Sultan, who also sold her for sex and was convicted of rape and indecent assault, along with other men including Mohammad Rizwan, convicted of indecent assault, Shafiq Younas, convicted of indecently assaulting her in a churchyard, and Amjad Hussain.
A fifth man, Nazam Akhtar, was acquitted of rape.
The four convicted men will be sentenced later.
The victim expressed that she kept silent for many years because she had 'had enough' and continues to struggle with the trauma.
