MICHAEL FOY'S SHOCKING CRIME IN BURNTISLAND: SEX OFFENDER'S REPREHENSIBLE ACTS REVEALED

A man from Burntisland, identified as Michael Foy, has been held accountable for a series of disturbing crimes involving the exploitation and non-consensual sharing of intimate images of women. Foy, who works as a fish fryer in Fife, was found guilty last month of uploading explicit photographs of two women to the adult website XHamster without their permission. The case has garnered significant attention due to the nature of the offenses and the manner in which they were carried out.

Foy’s actions came to light during a trial at Dunfermline Sheriff Court, where he was convicted on three charges related to the distribution of indecent images and taking a naked photograph of one of the women without her consent. The court heard that Foy had taken a photograph of one woman while she was asleep and naked, a clear violation of her privacy and consent. He then uploaded these images to the adult website, claiming that the images had been posted by one of his victims, which was proven false during the proceedings.

In his defense, Foy admitted to taking the photograph of the woman while she was asleep but insisted that he had sent it to the other woman involved. He claimed that she subsequently posted the images, along with videos and other pictures of herself, under the username BigFoy. The court was told that the offenses spanned from 2017 to 2020, and Foy’s actions included not only uploading images but also taking explicit photos without consent. The jury deliberated for two and a half hours before returning guilty verdicts on three of the four charges he faced.

Foy, aged 40, has a prior conviction related to a domestic offense involving one of the women. During the trial, he took to the witness stand to defend himself, offering a series of explanations that were met with skepticism. When questioned about how the images of the first woman were created, Foy claimed that it was her idea and that she had insisted on taking the photos despite his initial refusal. He further stated that both women had edited the images together and that he believed they had consented to sharing the pictures online.

However, the prosecution challenged Foy’s account, highlighting inconsistencies and pointing out that the descriptions attached to the images contained derogatory language that the women would not have used about themselves. The evidence also revealed that Foy was capable of using online platforms such as Plenty of Fish, where he claimed to have met the second woman, despite asserting he did not know how to upload content to adult websites.

Following his conviction, Foy was sentenced at Dunfermline Sheriff Court. He was spared imprisonment but was ordered to pay a total of £1,500 in compensation to the victims, with payments to be made at a rate of £250 per month. The court deemed his initial offer of £20 per week to be an insult and a derisory figure, emphasizing the seriousness of his offenses. Sheriff Charles Macnair QC also ordered Foy to complete the maximum 300 hours of unpaid work and to attend supervision for nine months. The full compensation must be paid within six months.

As part of his sentence, Foy was placed on the Sex Offenders Register and issued non-harassment orders preventing him from contacting either of the victims for a period of three years. The woman who was photographed while asleep is to receive £1,000 in compensation, while the other victim will receive £500. The case underscores the grave consequences of violating personal privacy and exploiting others through digital means, especially in a community like Burntisland where such conduct is deeply condemned.
