MICHAEL FALLON FROM WALSALL SENTENCED FOR DECADES OF ABUSE IN PERSISTENT CRIMES
In a harrowing case that has left a lasting scar on a young girl’s life, Michael Fallon, a resident of Walsall, has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for a prolonged campaign of sexual abuse that spanned over a decade.The court heard that Fallon began targeting his victim when she was approximately seven years old, initiating a pattern of abuse that would continue until she was around 17.
According to the prosecution, led by Mr.
Harpreet Sandhu, Fallon’s abuse intensified over the years, culminating in a rape when the girl was about 15.
Mr.
Sandhu described the abuse as becoming a “force of habit” for Fallon, indicating a disturbing level of familiarity and persistence in his actions.
The crimes first commenced in 1999, but it was not until 2014 that the victim disclosed the abuse to authorities, a delay that highlights the often-hidden nature of such cases.
The impact on the victim has been profound and enduring.
She has expressed that the trauma continues to dominate her thoughts, stating, “I used to be a cheerful, friendly, outgoing individual but he has taken all of that away from me.” Her suffering underscores the devastating psychological toll inflicted by Fallon’s actions.
Fallon, who resides on Pershore Road, Mossley, Bloxwich, initially denied the charges.
However, after a thorough trial, he was found guilty of nine serious offences, including indecent assault, assault by penetration, and rape.
The court’s judgment was delivered by Judge Barry Berlin, who condemned Fallon’s conduct as persistent and terrifying for the victim.
The judge emphasized the long-term damage caused, noting that Fallon’s actions had destroyed her childhood and inflicted permanent psychological harm.
He described the case as “dreadful.” In addition to his prison sentence, Fallon was subjected to a lifelong Sexual Harm Prevention Order, restricting his future interactions and ensuring ongoing monitoring to protect others from potential harm.
This case serves as a stark reminder of the devastating effects of long-term abuse and the importance of justice for victims who often suffer in silence for years.
