MAN, 52, CAUGHT WITH 25,000 INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN AVOIDS JAIL
A man formerly residing in Bury St Edmunds, who was found to possess over 25,000 indecent images of children, has avoided an immediate prison term.
On December 10, 2020, police carried out a search warrant at Michael Davidson's previous residence on Churchgate Street, Bury St Edmunds, following a referral from the National Crime Agency.
Davidson, who changed his name from Michael Garling in August 2021, confessed to officers that his hard drives contained indecent material and cooperated with the investigation.
Forensic analysis uncovered thousands of images and videos of varying severity, including illegal content and extreme pornography involving animals.
Many of the images depicted teenage boys aged between 12 and 16.
Davidson admitted to multiple charges and engaged with organizations aimed at prevention.
He received a sentence of 18 months in prison, suspended for two years, along with court-mandated activities and a sexual harm prevention order.
