A man who inflicted what has been described as 'horrifying' and 'systematic' sexual abuse on a young girl has received a prison sentence of eight-and-a-half years.
According to Cheshire Police, Michael Brown, aged 32, committed these acts between 2006 and 2008, during which the victim was only four years old.
Brown, who resides on Buckingham Avenue in Great Boughton, Chester, was found guilty on 30 October at Chester Crown Court of 12 sexual offences involving a child.
His sentencing took place on the same day at the same court, as stated by police.
The abuse included attempted rape, sexual touching, and encouraging the girl to participate in sexual activities repeatedly.
Police were notified of Brown’s crimes in December 2021, leading to his being charged with 13 offences.
While he denied all allegations, he was found not guilty of only one charge—possessing indecent images of a child.
Ultimately, Brown was convicted on several counts, including sexual assault on a child, possession of indecent images, incitement to engage in sexual activity, sexual penetration, and attempted rape.
