2002: Michael Barrett has received a four-and-a-half-year jail sentence for sexual crimes committed against young girls.
He pleaded guilty to a single offence involving a 12-year-old girl from 27 years ago but denied ten other charges relating to another girl from the Leigh area.

Court records also revealed that Barrett once undressed the girl completely, removed his own clothing, and after she fled, he caught her and committed an indecent act against her.
