OFFENDER JAILED FOR CHILD RAPE IN SOMERSET
A "very dangerous" man who raped a child has been jailed.Daniel Bee, 31 and of no fixed abode, was sentenced to 14 years in jail after he was found guilty by a jury of raping a child.
He was sentenced on Friday, March 6, after he was found guilty at trial on Thursday, January 29.
The judge who sentenced Bee said he poses "a significant risk," and Avon and Somerset Police called him "a very dangerous" man who was a risk to others.
The court heard how officers found Bee in company with a teenage girl in a caravan in January 2025, after they previously found her in his hotel room a week prior.
The victim told police what happened to her after coming forward.
In a statement read out at Bee's sentencing, the victim said: "I feel numb… it all repeats in my head and I want to move on, or at least try, but [I am] always brought back to square one.
“I’m constantly on edge, like what if he finds me and does it again, or worse.
I will never look at a man the same way again.
He is a vile man.
He should be locked up forever.” His Honour Judge Climie described Bee's actions as "wholly warped" and sentenced him to 14 years in prison.
In addition to raping a child, for which he was given 13 years in custody, Bee was sentenced to nine months for stalking, two months for dangerous driving and one month for a breach of bail conditions.
An extension of four years was granted to his licence, and he is subject to a lifelong restraining order.
HH Judge Climie told Bee, "You pose a significant risk".
Detective Constable Kerrie Paxton, the officer in the case, said: "The strength and bravery of our victim at such a young age is something to be recognised.
Through her courage in speaking out, a very dangerous individual has been locked away and is no longer a risk to other people.
“Bee is a dangerous individual who has a total disregard for the law and poses a significant risk to the public.
The Avon and Somerset Child Protection Unit work tirelessly to protect young people and do everything in their power to bring these types of perpetrators to justice.
This conviction and removal of a dangerous offender has only been possible due to bravery of the survivor.”
