MAN JAILED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER
A man found guilty of attempting to kill his ex-partner has been sentenced to 14 years in prison.Maxwell Drapkin, aged 37 and residing on Mike Oborski Close in Kidderminster, received his sentence at Worcester Crown Court on Friday, 22 May.
In an earlier court hearing, Drapkin admitted to deliberately strangling his former partner.
Following a trial that concluded yesterday, 21 May, he was convicted of attempted murder.
The incident in question occurred in Stourport-on-Severn on Sunday, 21 September 2025.
According to reports, Drapkin went to his ex-partner’s home, where he seized her by the neck and pushed her to the ground.
He then dragged her into the kitchen, continued to choke her, and struck her on the head.
The victim sustained injuries to her head and eye and was taken to hospital.
Fortunately, she was able to escape by climbing out of a window barefoot onto broken glass and sought help from neighbouring residents.
